Explore the surroundings

Prefer to explore the area? Camperduin beach apartments is ideally located on the border of dunes, polder and the beach. The charming villages of Groet, Bergen and Egmond are right on our doorstep and well worth a visit. If you’re staying longer and looking for more you can opt for a walk through the city of Alkmaar or a visit to the maritime museum in Den Helder. You won’t be lost for things to do and see in Camperduin.

A stones throw away from our Camperduin beach apartments, you can enjoy lots of walking and exploring in Groet. Climb the highest dune at 55.50m, visit the 18th century white church and surround yourself in history in the village center.

After discovering Groet, you can find a number of restaurants with terraces to enjoy lunch, snacks or dinner. Here are some of our favourites;

Duindorp Schoorl is located right on the dune and is mainly known for it’s high dunes and Het Klimduin where the children often enjoy running from bottom to top and then again, bottom to top! Whilst the children are enjoying the dune you can find a peaceful village center with shops, terraces and restaurants. For the best views, climb to the top of the Klimweg and take in the dutch natural beauty towards the sea and polder.

Bergen and Bergen aan Zee is a unique village and has lots to offer for everyone to enjoy. Spend time through the winding streets visiting the boutique shops, enjoy some culture at Museum Kranenburgh, visit the public nature-animal park and of course the beach. Many restaurants and terraces can be found in both Bergen and Bergen aan Zee. Easy to reach through the dunes with your (electric) bicycle or by car.

The city of cheese and that covers only part of what it has to offer. Alkmaar has a beautiful old centre with many historic monuments, great shopping districts and countless welcoming terraces, cafes and restaurants. Alkmaar also has a range of interesting museums, including the Stedelijk Museum, Beer Museum, Beatles Museum and naturally the Cheese Museum. Alkmaar is 20 minutes away by car.
